SUREYA MIR
Sureya Mir is the General Director of the Indigo Theatre Group and is originally from Mexico City. She has participated as a leading and supporting actress in different plays in Mexico, Dallas and Houston.
The Virgin’s Sack and Lucifer’s Mischief (1998), Like Water for Chocolate (1999), Wasted Lives (2000), The Star of Bethlehem (2002), The Talkers (2003-2005), I Wish I Loved You Dear (2005), The Humanoids (2006), The Vagina Monologues (2012), The Shepherds of Bethlehem (2012), Mr. Galindez (2013), Skull with Skull (2014), Doña Bárbara (2016). These works have been presented in places such as: Latino Cultural Center, Ice House and Bath House Cultural Center, House of Blues, Midtown Arts Center and Talento Bilingüe de Houston.
On television, she participated in La ley del Silencio (2005), Flasnovelas (2015) and in different advertising commercials. She has been the director and host of the radio programs: Chicos Tips and Cuentos Grandes para Zapatos Chicos (Univisión Radio).
She has a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Texas at Dallas, and is proud to be half Mexican and half Pakistani. Sureya is intense, strong, passionate about acting and is not afraid of the stage. She enjoys bringing different characters to life through theater and always knows how to give the right tone and the exact nuance to her characterizations.
